Repeaters
BARC has some of the best repeaters around. All of the club owned repeaters are open for your use. If you use the repeaters on a regular basis you should consider becoming a dues paying member of the club. The repeaters are maintained by a portion of members dues and by the generous equipment, money, and time donations of members.

Tired of hearing "Bad Autopatch Number"
Turning off the Wires Function on Yaesu Radios Click on this link to see how to do it.
The Repeater Replying "Bad Autopatch Number" is a annoying problem. The reason for this reply is simple the control that is used to route audio from the Repeaters Receivers to it's Transmitters also Decodes DTMF tones. These tones are normally made by Pressing the PTT and pressing the button on the number key pad.
These can be used for many things running Macros that play back weather info, programming the repeater and making Autopatch calls.
If a DTMF tone is heard by the controller but it doesn't match a Macro or valid sequence that it understands it replies "Bad Autopatch Number".
One way this can happen that users have very little control over is accidental DTMF activation. The controller has a program that analyzes the audio coming in on the Receiver. If the Audio or persons voice happens to match the frequency of a DTMF tone (Normally a higher pitch tone) it will mute or cover up the audio going out through the Transmitter. Then it will send out that "Bad Autopatch Number" error message if it doesn't know what to do with it.
This is something that can be adjusted out of the controller but has to be done at he controller. The controller is at the top of Mt Logan so this is not a easy thing to adjust.
