7th Call Area QSO Party -- May 1-2, 2010

Our club, using the club callsign of W7IVM, will be participating in the 7th Call Area QSO Party (7QP).  It begins at 1300 UTC Saturday to 0700 UTC Sunday (7 AM Saturday to 1 AM Sunday MDT).  We will be at the club ham shack on the USU campus.  Directions to the BARC Ham Shack from downtown Logan.  Take 4th North towards USU and turn left at 1200 East.  Take the first left onto 700 North.  Then take the first left onto Bullen Hall road.  Park in the lot just north of the Engineering Laboratory Building (ENLAB).  From the parking lot, enter ENLAB at the northwest corner.  Go up to the second floor and to the southwest corner of the building near the breeze way that connects to the Science Engineering Research (SER) Building (west of the ENLAB).  The Ham Shack room is next to the entrance of the breeze way.

The 7th call area stations work as many counties within the 7th call area as they can, which has 259 counties in the eight states.  Those stations outside of the 7th call area work the 7th area stations only.  Stations are worked once per band/mode.  7th area mobiles (and those participating in other concurrent QSO parties or contests) may be worked again as they enter new counties.  There are some counties that have never been on the air for this contest.  For this reason, there are some amateur radio operators that set up stations in the less HF ham populated and less active counties for this QSO party.  Here is a link to the 7QP for more information.  Also on that Saturday are the Indiana and New England QSO parties.

Drop by and enjoy the fun of a QSO party.  See the attached file with the directions and a map.
